In short, it’s a Cab Sim and IR Loader, and just like we made tuning a breeze with POLYTUNE and looping simple with DITTO LOOPER, IMPULSE IR LOADER will make the complexity of working with impulse response files disappear. Simply drag and drop your IRs over USB or use the dedicated IR organizer for PC and Mac, then IMPULSE IR LOADER will take care of the rest and make you sound like the best.

We’re proud that the IMPULSE IR LOADER comes pre-loaded with 12 of the finest, official Celestion digital IRs – hand-picked from what we believe to be the best IR on the market. You’ll find these IR wonders in slots 1-12. Once you’ve checked out the included 12, we suggest you pay Celestion a visit to explore even more of their digital IRs.
Enter the DI-Ready Dimension
Here at TC Electronic, we love a powerful combo, half stack or full stack as much as any guitar player. But we also know there are gigs where such a setup is just not practical. So, in IMPULSE IR LOADER’s slot 13-20 we added 8 TC Electronic PEDAL PLATFORM IRs. This means that you become DI-ready and can play without bringing your amp and cabs. We created these IRs using both an amp and a cab in order to give you that particular sound through a PA system, or at home when recording direct through an audio interface. Whatever the case, make sure to place IMPULSE IR LOADER after your drive pedals in the signal chain to transform your pedalboard into a DI ready guitar rig.
Pleasant Piezo Pickup?
Does your acoustic guitar sound amazing using the piezo pickup through a PA system? We guess the answer is somewhere in between maybe and hell no! Enter IMPULSE IR LOADER with pre-loaded Acoustic Guitar IRs in slot 21-25. Simply place it at the front of your pedal chain and load one of these acoustic IRs to take your Piezo from dull to full!
Toe-Toggling Tricks
The footswitch can operate in two different modes. Use A/B-mode to toggle between two pre-defined IR’s. For example, you could have your favorite speaker IR for clean tone loaded as A and another for overdrive/distortion loaded as B for swift and effortless speaker swaps. If you prefer to use IMPULSE IR LOADER as a traditional effects pedal, you can set it to true bypass mode and simply punch it in/out when hitting the footswitch. True bypass switching ensures that it can take a permanent residence on your board without affecting your tone when not in use. To toggle the two modes on the fly during performance, simply press and hold the footswitch for a few seconds.
KISS – Keep It Small and Simple!
Just because IMPULSE IR LOADER has a display, it doesn’t mean you have to struggle with layers of sub menus. On the contrary, it gives you a great overview at a glance, whilst the controls remain simple and intuitive - as they should be. The single knob adjusts output level and the small push buttons allow you to quickly browse through ‘previous’ and ‘next’ IRs stored in the bank. That’s it. We want you to play guitar rather than getting lost in menus!
This One Goes to… 200!
You probably know that hilarious Spinal Tap quote: “But this one goes to 11.” Well, we’ll beat that and then some! IMPULSE IR LOADER is ready to take on IRs of up to 200ms in length – and 200 is definitely way more than 11! In short, the longer the IR, the more details are flowing your way, giving you cab, amp and acoustic IRs that resemble the real deal with unparalleled accuracy.
The Final Touch. Shape It Your Way.
As a final touch, you can access a Global Compensation EQ with low shelf and high frequency filters for easy and natural integration with your various setups. It may sound like a small thing, but it’s a minuscule detail with a monumental impact. As you might expect, we opted to keep this easy and simple. Press both small arrow buttons simultaneously and get instant access to quickly adjust the low shelf and high frequency filters with the single level knob.
